Validating length of textbox dating crazy woman

So before saving data, I want to validate whether all the required fields are filled (Text Boxes) by the user. I would rather use a generic function that would be passed each control on the form and based on the type of the control, separate validation logic would be written.in case extra validation like restricting validation to some of the controls only, that would be decided at the function calling level. After creating an empty project, create an empty controller under controller folder by right clicking controller folder. After the creation of Controller, right click Action method and click Add view to create View (the action method name will be an index). Now, run the Application and leave textbox as empty and click Validate button. Here, we may use both to Lower Case and to Locale Lower Case to convert the text to lowercase. Most of the time, it provides the same result but the only difference is given below.I hope that helps, Brendan This will take a little bit of work to fit into your solution, but I think character counters are simply the best way of managing the length of a text box. It is so much easier when you know how much you have to work with. Hi, late reply , but some guys might hit this thread.I hope that helps, Brendan Keep in mind this is a more difficult solution to your problem, and the regular expression validator will just work easily. Some people mentioned the use of javascript to validate the length.Main Error Collection To This class is used to convert the Validation. If it were, I would bind to it and use the built-in Boolean To Visibility converter.

You can add this to the control from the C# similarly to this. So server side validation(like using regular expression validator ) is quite essential.

Net to validate texts for either searching patterns or restricting user input in a textbox. Net, you can use the Max Length property to restrict user input for a maximum length.

I was wondering if there is a way I can validate the length on a password box? Thanks guys for your input but I don't want to use javascript as I am already using other validators (required, compare).

I think you can with a regex but I don't know the actual expression as password can contain almost anything. I know I can use a regular expression validator using to state 7 as the minimum but I dont know how to set it to all characters.

hello does anyone know how i go about stopping users go past 6000 chars in my textbox i tried using rang validation but seems to be for numeric values any1 got any ideas of how i can accomplish this [:)] Thanks Andy, This will take a little bit of work to fit into your solution, but I think character counters are simply the best way of managing the length of a text box.
